It’s the one-ness with the clay, the state of mindfulness that occurs when creating pottery, which moulds the clay & adds life to the piece.
Greg’s creative journey started in Cape Town, South Africa & led him & his family to the seaside town of Dungarvan, where they settled 20 years ago.
He studied Architecture in Cape Town & designed homes for a sunny climate until he moved to the UK. Life in London introduced him to the field of multimedia design, where he spent 10 years designing printed media and websites.
A weekend trip to Dungarvan was all it took to realise that this seaside town was what he & his wife had been searching for since leaving Cape Town.
His love of pottery started almost 10 years ago, the moment he moulded clay in his hands for the first time & a few years later, this love for clay had become a part of his life.
Life at the seaside & his youngest son’s passion of playing traditional Irish music are deeply
inspirational in the pottery he lovingly creates by hand.
Greg does not use moulds to make his pottery. He treats each piece as a unique creation with a life of its own. So, although he creates along a theme, every piece of pottery will have a character of its own.
